Summary

This full-time, supervisory exempt position, is responsible for managing the line service personnel in all duties related to ramp, aircraft fueling and other related services, in accordance with company standards, policies and procedures.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Directs all line service activities to include scheduling adequate line staff to cover all shifts and activities within company guidelines.

  • Is an expert in policies and tools employed by the company and ensures location compliance with all current operational and safety requirements and company standard operating procedures (SOP).

  • Ensures that fuel quality control inspections are completed properly and regularly.

  • Oversees or conducts daily/weekly onsite inspections and audits of equipment and facility operations.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of specific aircraft refueling instructions, ground marshalling, turning, loading and unloading.

  • Provides continuous training and development, to ensure that every member of the line services team conforms to established quality, health, safety, legal, ethical, administrative, and other standards set forth by the company.

  • Acts as first responder to any company spill incidents.

  • Provides after hours and weekend call out service as required

  • Completes and maintains required fuel and equipment logs/paperwork.

  • Ensure that customers receive correct services including fuel, lavatory, oil, catering, baggage assistance and any special requests.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Enforces good housekeeping practices through daily inspections of assigned areas for cleanliness, neatness, and compliance with regulations and policies.

  • Immediately relay all safety issues to the Operations Manager and/or the General Manager.

  • Works closely with the General Manager to strive for continued improvement in the above areas.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong interpersonal and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal, are required. 

  • Must be organized, detail oriented, motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

  • Minimum three years’ previous experience in line service or equivalent.

  • Previous supervisory/management experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.

  • Proficient in computer operations and Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Minimum of 18 years of age

  • Possess and maintain valid state drivers’ license.  May be required to maintain a valid state commercial drivers’ license (CDL) and certification requirements for operating material handling equipment as necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Physically able to perform frequent walking, stretching, bending, sitting, stooping, reaching, grasping, and climbing actions.

  • Physically able to perform heavy lifting on a regular basis up to 50 lbs.

  • May be required to work overtime, nights, weekends.

  • Ability to perform line service operations outside and in extreme temperatures and inclement weather.

  • Excellent vision and coordination to move or direct fuel trucks and hoses.
